Jacques Scott's Sergio Serrano, aka The Matador (pictured left) says they have some really interesting new wines to try. Louis Martini's 2009 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is one such example, a wine layered with fruity notes of cherry, plum and blackberry with, so the winemakers say, "an underlying dry creek dustiness".
The interestingly named Apothic Red is another California beauty, this time a blend of three distinct grapes: the dark fruit flavours of Syrah, brambly spice of Zinfandel, and smooth elegance of Merlot. Melded seemlessly together, in the glass these create aromas and flavours of rhubarb and black cherry backed up by hints of mocha, chocolate, brown spice and vanilla. Just turn up at Agua and enjoy!
